Audenshaw Sharks' swim aces, Jolan Bennett and Nathan Clare are currently enjoying a great period of form in their elite level swimming exploits. Bennett, a year nine student competed at the North West Regional Championships along with Sharks teammate, Nathan Clare of year 7 and returned with two gold, one silver & one bronze, these being his first regional titles in 200 IM & 200 butterfly. Nathan finished runner up in the gruelling 1500m event and was a finalist in the 100m freestyle.

Jolan also got his invite through for the British Championships this week which means he has finished in the top 24 swimmers in Britain for his age group in 6 events in the qualification window (100m/200m Backstroke; 100m/200m Butterfly and 200m/400m Individual Medley). The British Swimming website says "The British Summer Championships will see the next generation of swimmers competing for honors against their biggest domestic rivals. Swimmers have been invited based on the national rankings. The top 24 in each age group and event are invited to compete at the British Summer Championships in July." Jolan will now compete at Pond's Forge in Sheffield in the last week in July with Stockport Metro. The events are live streamed. .
