King William's College to play 1st XV in NATWEST cup

Tuesday November 8th will see the 1st XV Face King William's College from the Isle of Man in the third round of the NATWEST National Vase Competition.

The Audenshaw team has been in impressive form in 2016/17 with 4 wins in the opening half term including a 22-7 success over Bolton School, a 29-27 win away at Rishworth and two victories in successive weeks over Runshaw College from Preston, one a resounding 69-0 in the opening round of the Lancashire Schools U18 Cup.

The 1st XV last faced King William's College during the memorable 2013/14 season in which Audenshaw reached the fifth round of the nationals and were also U18 Lancashire Plate finalists in the same year. That particular team included Warrington Wolves star, Jack Johnson and was skippered by Lewis Christian who now plies his trade in student rugby for the University of Central Lancashire.

We look forward to another exciting period for Audenshaw Rugby and wish our boys all the very best for the forthcoming challenges.
