Audenshaw Rugby product, Ellis Robson, became the third of our students in the last three years to make his first team professional debut over the festive period as he debuted for Warrington Wolves in the festive derby against Widnes Vikings. Ellis began his Audenshaw School career in the summer of 2010 and rapidly developed into a star of his team along with the likes of Matt Sonczak, Ewan Roach, Jack Davies and Dan Moriarty. County honours were earned with Lancashire throughout his school career and Ellis also represented the North of England as an U16. The decision to pursue both codes of the game proved a brilliant one as Ellis starred for the Oldham St Annes amateur club and during this time was scouted by Super League's Wigan Warriors. Ellis also progressed within the Sale Sharks Player Pathway through his mid teens and then later made the decision to commit to an Academy contract with Warrington Wolves after impressing Head Scout, Peter Farrell, in his school games for Audenshaw. Ellis continued to represent the school 1st XV into his final year, having done so since year 11 and was a member of the the 1st XV that successfully reached the 5th Round of the NATWEST National Competition in 2016/17. Ellis will now be hoping to become a regular feature for the Wolves in their 2018 Super League Campaign as he aims to emulate the accomplishments of fellow Audenshaw Alumni, Gene Ormsby and Jack Johnson who have established themselves as first team stars with both Warrington Wolves and Huddersfield Giants respectively. Next on the radar is U19 ace, Patrick Anglin who will also be looking to join Robson in the Senior XIII in the months to come. Mr Rose
