Congratulations to Year 11 GCSE PE student E. Allen on signing his scholarship
The year 9 football team are back to winning ways. Last week they were knocked out of the national cup by Kirkby High School after having most of the possession and many more of the chances. The boys regrouped for their Tameside league fixture with St. Thomas More and made light work of regathering their ability to finish. Abdullah Cheema opened the scoring account for the reds with a sweet left foot finish inside the box after a wonderful passing move and assist from Kody Artwell. Artwell himself went on to score two in the first half and after a goal from Domonic Littlewood the Audenshaw boys were 4-0 at half time. Often, football games are described as "a game of two halves". This was certainly that, however the second half mirrored the first with Audenshaw scoring another 4 with Thompson scoring 2 from the bench; Hurd and Best also finding the net. Artwell, a new addition to the side after returning to the school from Spain, was named man of the match. The game ended 8-0 and both teams were probably glad for the final whistle in the dismal conditions. Audenshaw look forward to facing Wright Robinson College in the upcoming Manchester Cup fixture.
