Good Luck to the Audenshaw U14's in Sevens Action at Bolton School today
The U15 Cricket Team are through to the Quarter Final of the Lancashire Schools Cup after a thrilling victory over Canon Slade School on Tuesday afternoon. Ethan Bradshaw once again showed his leadership talents skippering the side superbly and opting to put his team into bat after winning the toss. He and his opening partner, Toby Lees made a solid start in the opening overs playing their shots and building the innings. The home side reached 30 without loss after four overs before Lees was caught off a top edge by the wicket keeper. Joe Turner entered the fray and immediately went on the offensive, making his way to a decisive 22. Bradshaw was the second to go, dismissed in similar fashion to Lees leading to the big hitting Harry Vernon taking his place at the crease. His quick fire 17 steadied the ship for Audenshaw but at 73/4 the game was undoubtedly in the balance. This however, was to be answered by the emphatic Abda Nawaz who made 26 not out including a key over in which he hit a massive 18 with three bounaries in there for good measure. Owen Smith chipped in with a tidy 7 before Saad Amjaad joined Nawaz for the final over as Audenshaw reached an impressive 142/7 after their 20 overs. Canon Slade's hopes were to be quickly dashed as Audenshaw set about with typical tenacity in the attack, reducing the visitors to 3/2 after the first 3 overs. Ethan Bradshaw took the wicket of Moore for 0 and Ebbrell was next to strike as Park was bowled for 3. Toby Lees claimed two wickets for 19 runs from his 4 overs and Abdullah Amir was clinical taking 3/9 off just 2 overs. The visitors were all out for 101 after 18 overs and will now meet Bolton School in the last eight at Hazel Street on Monday .
