Good Luck to the Audenshaw U14's in Sevens Action at Bolton School today
The U15 Cricket team enjoyed a superb victory in the Lancashire Schools Cup on Monday afternoon as they overcame St Bede's RC High School from Blackburn. The home team won the toss with skipper, Ethan Bradshaw opting to bowl first and this proved to be a smart decision as he promptly claimed the wicket of opener, Gooden for 0 in the first over. Tight bowling from Bradshaw and Ben Ebrell at the other end limited the St Bede's scoring to just 34/1 at the halfway stage of the 20 overs and O'Toole was next to go as Harry Vernon dismissed him for 5 with a neat catch from Owen behind the stumps. Audenshaw's attack was potent throughout with Abdaraman taking the wicket of Ainsworth for 12 and Toby Lees and Joe Turner both ensured the visitors total was kept below the 100 mark as they completed their overs with a total of 93/3/. The Hazel Street team set about the chase in confident style with Lees and Bradshaw in outstanding form as Lees made his way to an incredible 56 not out and Bradshaw made a rapid fire 18 before being caught behind off the bowling of Cordingley. Joe Turner joined the man of the match Lees at the wicket to wrap up the final runs as Audenshaw struck 98 for just one wicket to claim the win.
