How will I know if my child is making progress?
- Progress will be monitored in line with the school assessment calendar. (Assessment points are 4 times per year) It will show your child's target grade, working at grades and level of effort in each class.
- If your son's progress is a cause for concern you will be invited to attend one of our Alert Evenings.
- Students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) and where appropriate students who are identified as Special Educational Needs Support have an Individual Education Plan (IEP). This is a tool for setting targets and helps students, parents/carers and teachers to identify and monitor the students’ needs. All IEP’s are reviewed on a six monthly basis with the SENCo, parents/carers and the student concerned. Please note that from September 2014 School Action Plus was replaced with the new category of SEN Support and that Statements were replaced with Education Health Care Plan (EHCP). Audenshaw School IEP’s will continue to be in place for students, where appropriate, as they are an effective way of setting targets and reviewing them in order to help students make good progress.
